Mumbai, Oct. 26 -- The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Mumbai Police have busted an illegal MD drug manufacturing unit operating in neighbouring Palghar district by arresting five people, seized drugs and other materials worth several crores of rupees, officials said here today.
The illegal operation was being run from Rashid Compound in Pelhar area of Nalasopara East, where authorities confiscated 6.675 kilograms of finished MD (methylenedioxymethamphetamine) drugs along with substantial quantities of raw materials and production equipment.
An official said that the successful raid was conducted through a joint effort involving the Narcotics Team of Mumbai Police Zone-6 and Tilak Nagar Police Station.
