Mumbai, Dec. 15 -- After a prolonged delay, the dates for the long-pending municipal corporation elections in Mumbai were announced on Monday.
The State Election Commission announced that polling at 29 places in Maharashtra will be held on January 15, while counting of votes and results will be declared on January 16.
With immediate effect, the model code of conduct has come into force in all municipal corporations.
Filing of nomination papers are December 23 to December 30 and scrutiny of nominations is December 31. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is January 2, 2026, said the Election Commission.
Allotment of election symbols and publication of final candidate list is January 3.
