Mumbai, Dec. 29 -- The Mumbai Marathi Patrakar Sangh (MMPS) has announced its annual journalism awards for 2025, selecting seven journalists across various categories, with the ceremony scheduled on Journalists' Day, January 6, 2026.
The awards, carrying a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and citations, will be presented at 6 PM at the MMPS hall in Mumbai by noted journalist P. Sainath, MMPS President Sandeep Chavan said.
This year marks the introduction of two new memorial honours. The first Shirish Kanekar Smruti Puraskar, funded through a donation by late journalist Shirish Kanekar's wife Bharati Kanekar, will be awarded to veteran film scholar and journalist Dilip Thakur.
