Mumbai, June 17 -- The police have initiated legal proceedings against two trustees of a local Islamic seminary in Qureshi Nagar following the alleged unauthorized use of loudspeakers, contravening both a specific court order and prior police directives, officials said on Tuesday.
Salim Aziz Shah (52) and Taufiq Zainuddin Shah (37), trustees of the Anjuman Shahe Alam Madrasa Habibiya Anjul Islam located within Namdar Chawl, Qureshi Nagar, stand accused of causing noise pollution. The incident occurred on the evening of June 15, between 6:30 and 7 pm, when officers on patrol noted the loudspeakers in operation without requisite clearance.
