Mumbai, Dec. 28 -- In a significant infrastructure push, the Maharashtra government has granted in-principle approval for the ambitious Kalyan-Latur Janakalyan Expressway, a proposed high-speed corridor designed to drastically cut travel time between Mumbai and the Marathwada region.
The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), tasked with executing the project, has commenced alignment work based on the state's clearance. According to finalised plans shared with Lokasatta by official sources, the expressway will traverse six districts: Thane, Pune, Ahmednagar, Beed, Dharashiv, and Latur.
