Mumbai, July 10 -- The Bombay High Court has upheld the demolition of the Parshwanath Digambar Jain temple in Vile Parle by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), ruling the civic action was lawful.

Following the verdict, the Municipal Engineers' Association has taken a strong stance, accusing political leaders of inciting the peace-loving Jain community and demanding disciplinary action.

The K-East ward of the BMC had carried out the demolition of the Parshwanath Jain structure located in Kamble Wadi in April. The Jain community responded with protests and legal intervention, leading the court to impose a stay on the demolition and maintain status quo at the site.
