Mumbai, Sept. 4 -- As the 10-day long Ganeshotsav nears its end, lakhs of devotees will immerse Ganesh idols on Anant Chaturthi, the festival's last day, on Saturday, September 6.
The Mumbai Police and BMC have geared up for one of the city's biggest events of the year.
A total of 17,600 police personnel will be deployed, including Quick Response Teams (QRTs), State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), Home Guard personnel, horse-mounted units, dog squads, and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS).
Drones and over 11,000 CCTV cameras will monitor crowds at prominent Ganesh pandals and immersion sites.
