Mumbai, Oct. 16 -- A special court set up in Mumbai to look after the cases registered under the Atrocity Act convicted a retired police officer and his wife for intentionally insulting the then chairman of the housing society over his caste 15 years ago.
The court accorded a jail term of six months and levied a fine of Rs 5000 on Gajendra Kadam (58) and his wife, Shraddha Kadam (54).
After its judgement, the court granted them bail to file an appeal in the higher courts.
