Mumbai, Aug. 11 -- In a significant operation, the Trombay police in Mumbai arrested a 27-year-old man, Mohammad Samir Abdul Qadir Khan, for allegedly dealing in counterfeit currency. The police seized fake Indian currency notes worth Rs 95,500, all in Rs 500 denominations, from his possession. Police sources said based on a tip-off received by sub-inspector Sharad Nanekar, a police team was deployed at Trombay bus terminal, where the accused was reportedly planning to conduct a transaction involving counterfeit notes. This recent arrest is part of the city's ongoing efforts to combat fake currency rackets."
