Mumbai, Oct. 22 -- Seven people were injured this afternoon when a portion of a ground-plus-one building collapsed in the Nagpada area of south Mumbai, officials confirmed.

The incident occurred around 12:45 pm at the Solution Army building located on Shaikh Hafizudin Marg, Nagpada, according to information received from the BMC's Disaster Management Cell. A civic official stated that a portion of the first floor of the structure collapsed, injuring the seven victims.

Fire brigade personnel and the local civic ward team rushed to the spot and carried out rescue operations.
