Mumbai, May 22 -- A 37-year-old college principal has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting and molesting a 17-year-old girl student studying at the same college, police said here on Thursday.
According to the details available, the accused was arrested by the MHB Police after a case was registered under the POCSO Act and molestation charges.
He is currently in police custody, officials confirmed.
The minor victim, a resident of Nagpada, in south Mumbai, is a student at a college in Borivali, where the accused served as the principal.
According to the complaint, the principal had been attempting to get close to the girl for several months, engaging in inappropriate behaviour and repeatedly harassing her.
