Nagpur, Dec. 10 -- Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik on Wednesday announced that the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) will add 8,000 new buses to its fleet by 2026.

Out of these, the tender process for 3,000 buses has already been completed.

Speaking in the Legislative Council, Sarnaik said that MSRTC will receive Rs 2,893 crore through supplementary demands.

This allocation includes provisions for staff salaries and clearing pending dues. The minister was replying to a query raised by members Bhai Jagtap, Satej Patil, Anil Parab, Sunil Shinde, and others regarding funds set aside to clear staff arrears.
