New Delhi, Aug. 18 -- Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta today said that the Micro Small and Medium Enterprise industries 'MSMEs' are the backbone of the country's economy, and this sector contributes nearly 45 per cent to the total exports.
Gupta, while delivering the keynote address as Chief Guest at the MSME Global Summit 2025, said that with the right policy framework, global partnerships, and encouragement of innovation, this contribution by the sector may rise to 60-70 per cent.
The BJP leader said the summit embodies Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call of local to global, describing it as "not just a slogan but the manifesto of India's economic revolution".
