Mumbai, Feb. 23 -- Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Nana Patole on Friday expressed his condolences over death of former chief minister and former Lok Sabha Speaker Manohar Joshi, saying that a loyal, learned, experienced and cultured leader has been lost.

Expressing deep grief over the death of Joshi, he said that Joshi sir, who came from a humble background, had a long political journey as a Mumbai corporator, mayor, chief minister, Union minister, Lok Sabha Speaker.

Throughout his political career, he continued to fight for the rights of Marathi people, the MPCC chief said.

He saw many ups and downs in his political career, but never compromised his loyalty and views, he said.
