Gangtok, July 24 -- Sikkim Lok Sabha MP Indra Hang Subba met with the Director General of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) in New Delhi to advocate for enhanced infrastructure in critical border regions, particularly in North and East Sikkim.
A prominent issue discussed was the condition of the road connecting Gangtok to Zeema via Chungthang and Lachen in North Sikkim, a vital route for the region's remote communities.
Subba emphasized the importance of consistent upkeep to ensure year-round usability, and he urged the construction of an alternate highway to improve long-term reliability, mitigating frequent disruptions from landslides, floods, and other natural disasters.
