Gangtok, July 20 -- Lok Sabha MP Dr. Indra Hang Subba today drew attention of parliament floor leaders to the worrying trend of receding glaciers and the rapid expansion of glacial lakes in the Himalayan region.

Subba, who represents the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), articulated the views during a meeting of Floor Leaders of Political Parties in Parliament in New Delhi.

The meeting was aimed at setting the tone for discussions in the upcoming Parliamentary session, the MP said.
