Bhopal, Nov. 18 -- The controversial Simhastha Land Pooling Act has been ultimately repealed by the Madhya Pradesh dispensation.

There was a meeting between the government, farmers' organisations and ruling Bharatiya Janata Party office bearers on Monday at Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's residence. The repeal decision was made public late at night.

During the recent past, ryots' organisations were consistently adamant over the repeal. Over about a month, cultivators were staging an agitation in phases. In that sequence, the farmers' associations announced that a 'Ghera dalo - dera dalo' campaign would commence in Ujjain today.
