Bhopal, July 20 -- In the first instance of its kind, the Madhya Pradesh state government accorded a guard of honour to an elderly lady of Gwalior, who died on Saturday and her family donated her body for medical research.
On July 1, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav had announced that the state government will provide a guard of honour to those who donate their bodies and vital organs after death.
The CM had also said that the government will felicitate the family members of body and vital organ donors on January 26 and August 15.
In line with that decision, the police provided a guard of honour to Pancho Bai Rajoriya (78), who breathed her last at her house in Thathipur at Gwalior on Saturday.
