New Delhi, July 25 -- As directed by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), the Madhya Pradesh Government has provided a compensation of Rs 50,000 to a 5-year-old student who was subjected to inhumane treatment by a teacher and an attendant at a private school in Rewa.
The NHRC said in a statement that the incident came to light following the NHRC's intervention after the Commission took suo-motu cognizance of the case on January 23, 2025.
According to reports from district authorities, the young student was forced by an attendant to wash his soiled clothes and wear them again, leading to both physical and mental distress.
