Srinagar, Jan. 30 -- Member of Parliament and Awami Itihad Party (AIP) chief Abdul Rashid Sheikh aka Engineer Rashid will go on hunger strike in Tihar jail from Friday to protest for not
being allowed to attend the Parliament proceedings scheduled to begin from January 31.
Talking to media persons here the AIP vice president Advocate G N Shaheen said that Engineer Rashid will go on indefinite hunger strike from Friday.
"Er Rashid is going on a hunger strike from tomorrow in Tihar Jail. In solidarity with him we have also decided to go on a hunger strike in Srinagar, Jammu and Delhi," Shaheen said. " We have sought permission for holding a hunger strike in Srinagar's Pratap park."
