Bhopal, July 29 -- Over the past four years, cyber criminals made youths their biggest target in Madhya Pradesh, the Assembly was informed today.
In a written reply to Riti Pathak (ruling BJP), Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said, "A total 1,021 such crimes were registered in 2022; 927 in 2023; 1,082 in 2024 and 511 in 2025. In 2022, 717 youngsters were affected, 83 aged persons and 221 others. The corresponding figures for the subsequent years are 700, 62, 165; 703, 103, 276; 344, 31, 276. In all these years, the maximum number of cases pertained to misuse of social media, the year-wise break-up being 542, 428, 396 and 242. At present a Cyber and Hi-Tech Crime Station is being managed under the Cyber Police Headquarters, Bhopal.
