Bhopal, Feb. 21 -- In a surprise development, amidst the opposition Congress aggressively cornering the ruling BJP in the ongoing budget session of the Madhya Pradesh State Assembly, Deputy Leader of Opposition Hemant Katare tendered his resignation from the post on Friday late evening.
In his resignation, Katare cited reasons like not being able to give ample time to his constituency Ater in Bhind, as well as to his family commitments.
Sources quoting state party organisational general secretary Sanjay Kamble said that Katare submitted his resignation to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee chief Jitu Patwari and Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar.
