Sholapur, Jan. 5 -- A motorcyclist was killed and five persons travelling in a car were injured in a serious road accident on the Sholapur-Pune national highway near Shetfal Shivar on Monday.
Police said the accident occurred when a speeding car bearing registration number MH 46 BU 5408, travelling from Mumbai towards Sholapur, rammed into a two-wheeler (MH 13 V 6039) from behind. The motorcycle was proceeding from Modnimb towards Sidhiwari. The impact was severe, causing critical head injuries to the rider.
The injured motorcyclist was rushed to a government hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead before treatment could be initiated.
