New Delhi, Feb. 6 -- Over 500 women and girls went missing in Delhi during the first half of January 2026, accounting for nearly two-thirds of all reported missing cases, according to Delhi Police data.

Between January 1 and 15, a total of 807 individuals were reported missing, of whom 509 were women and girls. On average, about 54 people were reported missing each day. Of the 509 women and girls and 298 men, police have traced 235 individuals so far, while 572 remain unaccounted for.

Minors accounted for 191 of the total missing cases, raising concerns over child safety. Girls formed a significant majority, with 146 reported missing compared to 45 boys.
