New Chandigarh, Sept. 14 -- Phoebe Litchfield and Beth Mooney stole the show as Australia Women defeated India Women by eight wickets in the opening One-Day International at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium here tonight.

Chasing India's total of 281 for seven, Litchfield played a scintillating 88 off 80 balls, while Mooney raced to an unbeaten 77 with a 45-ball fifty. Their aggressive strokeplay and composure under pressure anchored the Australian innings. Annabel Sutherland added a quick 54. Mooney and Sutherland guided Australia to a comfortable victory with 23 balls to spare.
