Puri, Dec. 16 -- The month-long Pahili Bhog has begun at Sri Jagannath Temple, Puri.

Following temple tradition, the deities were offered 28 varieties of delicious cakes, including the famous Dhanu Muan made from newly harvested paddy and grams, before sunrise.

The temple gates opened at 2 a.m. to perform the daily rituals-Mangal Arati, Mailum, Tadap Lagi, Abakash, Surya Puja, and Rosohoma-before offering Pahili Bhog.
