Shimla, Sept. 26 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that conditions are becoming favourable for the further withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from Himachal Pradesh and adjoining northwestern states within the next 24 to 48 hours.

According to the IMD, the line of withdrawal currently passes through Rampur Bushahr, Haridwar, Moradabad, Etawah, Banswara, Vallabh Vidyanagar, and Veraval.

The department has forecast the retreat of the monsoon from the remaining parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and some more areas of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Madhya Pradesh over the next two days.
