Lucknow, Sept. 30 -- The monsoon activity has resumed in Uttar Pradesh, bringing heavy rainfall to several parts of the state. Three people have died due to lightning strikes across three districts.

Intense rain lashed at least 10 cities this morning, including Kanpur, Gonda, Mathura, Hathras, Bareilly, and Noida. Fatalities due to lightning strikes were reported in Mathura, Shravasti, and Kannauj.

In Hathras, the downpour was particularly severe, leading to waterlogged roads and widespread power outages. This marks the resumption of rain after an eight-day dry spell in the state.

Western Uttar Pradesh remains overcast, and the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rainfall in 17 districts today.
