Agartala, May 27 -- The Southwest monsoon hit Tripura on Monday, ahead of 10 days from the scheduled onset, indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall across the state in the next five days with thunderstorms, IMD officials said here.
Monsoon usually arrives in Tripura in the first week of June, and last year Southwest monsoon hit the state on May 30. The state witnessed moderate rainfall on Monday night across Tripura, which increased air moisture on Tuesday with bright sunshine, making the day unbearably hot and humid.
