Monsoon havoc continues in HP, death toll rises to 263
Shimla, Aug. 18 -- Relentless rains over the past three days have further worsened the flood situation in Himachal Pradesh, leaving a trail of destruction across several districts.
According to the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC), the monsoon death toll has climbed to 263, with two fresh fatalities reported on Sunday in separate road accidents in Chamba and Kangra. Since June 20, the state has recorded 332 injuries and over 1,050 livestock deaths, along with massive damage to property and crops.
