Shimla, July 17 -- The relentless monsoon continues to wreak havoc across Himachal Pradesh, pushing the death toll to 109, with several still missing, as heavy rain, flash floods, and landslides cripple roads and utilities.
The cumulative losses have soared to over Rs 8,831 crore since June 20, according to the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC).
According to SEOC, around 65 people have been killed in the monsoon rain in various mishaps since June 20 onwards, and 44 people died in various road mishaps in the state. This year alone around 534 people died in rain-related mishaps.
