Mumbai, May 25 -- The Maharashtra Agriculture Department on Sunday appealed to farmers (mainly dryland farmers) not to rush into sowing and cultivation, with the expectation that the monsoon will arrive soon in their areas or believing in fake news.

According to an official media statement, this year, the monsoon has started its journey rapidly and has entered South Konkan on May 25, 10 days earlier than the usual date.
