Berlin, Sept. 16 -- Borussia Monchengladbach have parted company with head coach Gerardo Seoane with immediate effect after a poor start to the Bundesliga season, the club confirmed.

The 46-year-old Swiss coach departs after a run of 10 league games without a win stretching across two seasons, with Gladbach failing to score in their first three matches of the new campaign.

Under-23 coach Eugen Polanski has been appointed caretaker manager while the club searches fora permanent successor.

"After an in-depth review of our season start, we came to the conclusion that a change was necessary," said sporting director Roland Virkus on Monday.
