Struck by a childhood polio reaction that affected both her legs, Mona refused to let her disability define her future. Over the years, she fought against physical and financial hardships, defying expectations to become a Paralympic medallist.

Through sheer perseverance, she transitioned from using callipers and a walking stick to eventually becoming wheelchair-bound. But her resolve never wavered.

"All my struggles stopped there, but I'm still happy," Mona says with remarkable positivity. "I'm working on rehabilitation, so hopefully, I'll be able to do my basic activities again."
