Chisinau, July 30 -- Moldovan President Maia Sandu said on Wednesday after a meeting of the country's Supreme Security Council that Russia was preparing to interfere in Moldova's parliamentary elections but provided no evidence to support her allegations.
"Today, at a meeting of the Supreme Security Council, we discussed measures to combat manipulation and foreign interference in the electoral process. The Russian Federation wants to control Moldova starting this fall and is preparing unprecedented interference in the electoral process... The financing of electoral corruption through cryptocurrencies alone amounts to about 100 million euros [$116 million]," Sandu said at a briefing.
