Tehran, April 18 -- In his first Army Day address as Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei praised Iran's military on Sunday for its role in what he described as a US-Israeli war of aggression, pledging further military advances in the weeks ahead.
Speaking on the 29th of Farvardin (April 18th), the date formally recognised as Iran's Army Day, Khamenei said the Islamic Republic's armed forces had "confronted two armies at the forefront of disbelief and arrogance," exposing their "weakness and humiliation" before the world.
Without naming the United States or Israel directly in portions of his remarks, the message left little ambiguity about who he was referring to.
