Bengaluru, Oct. 22 -- Mohammed Ashfaq, a local resident allegedly at the centre of a largescale voter deletion operation in Aland constituency, has emerged as a key figure in the Karnataka SIT investigation.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing voter list irregularities linked to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's "vote chori" allegations, found that Ashfaq coordinated multiple fraudulent voter deletion applications through a data centre in Kalaburagi.
According to SIT officials, Ashfaq reportedly communicated via Internet calls with associates including Mohammad Akram, Junaid, Aslam, and Nadeem, facilitating the submission of 6,018 deletion requests between December 2022 and February 2023. Each deletion was allegedly paid Rs 80, tak...
