Chandigarh, Dec. 5 -- In a significant push towards stricter traffic enforcement, Mohali Police issued 436,395 e-challans between March and November 2025, leveraging an advanced online monitoring system supported by a network of CCTV cameras across the district.
According to DSP Karnail Singh, the extensive challan drive generated Rs 6.23 crore in revenue, which he described as an important step towards improving road safety and strengthening traffic management. Singh emphasised that adherence to traffic rules should stem not only from fear of penalties but also from a sense of responsibility towards one's own safety and that of others.
