Patna, Nov. 20 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi again highlighted Bihar's cultural identity by waving a traditional 'gamcha,' the iconic symbol of Bihar, from the stage after the swearing-in of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on Thursday.
After all ministers completed their oath, Modi removed the 'gamcha' from around his neck and waved it in the air to greet the audience. The moment became symbolic of the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) massive victory in the Bihar Assembly elections.
As soon as Modi waved the 'gamcha', thousands of people present at Gandhi Maidan followed him and began waving their own gamchas in the air, a gesture associated with the pride of Bihari style.
