Kolkata, March 22 -- With West Bengal emerging as a key battleground, the BJP has sharpened its campaign focus with Prime Minister Narendra Modi likely to visit north Bengal next week, party sources said on Sunday.

According to sources, the Prime Minister may arrive on April 7 or 8, with a major roadshow planned in Siliguri. He is also expected to address a public rally during the visit. There are indications that the BJP is planning as many as four rallies across north Bengal as part of an intensified outreach in the region, considered electorally crucial. Preparatory meetings are already underway.
