New Delhi/Dhaka, Feb. 17 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited the newly-elected premier of Bangladesh and chairman of the ruling BNP government, Tarique Rahman, to New Delhi, in an attempt to build new bridges with the eastern neighbour, and redefine the Delhi-Dhaka ties in a time of considerable diplomatic difficulties.
The invitation was conveyed in a letter dated February 16. PM Modi extended his congratulations to Rahman on becoming the country's new premier, as well as for the BNP's landslide victory in the parliamentary elections on February 12.
