Alappuzha, April 6 -- Congress campaign committee chairman Ramesh Chennithala has launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that his campaign visits to Kerala are indirectly aimed at benefiting Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the ruling CPI(M).

Chennithala said there is growing reason to suspect that Modi's presence in Kerala is not to counter the Left government but to help it.

He pointed out that while the Prime Minister frequently criticises the Congress, his attacks on the CPI(M) are noticeably milder.
