New Delhi, Feb. 27 -- The Congress on Thursday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of making "hollow promises" about ensuring women's security, and claimed that cases of harassment against women are increasing under the BJP's rule.
Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters here, Congress spokesperson Ajay Kumar referred to the alleged rape of a young woman inside a government bus in Pune on Tuesday and regretted that the police were unable to catch the culprit.
"The incident has raised serious questions on women's safety as the accused is still out of police custody even two days after the incident," he said.
