Durgapur, July 18 -- Launching a scathing attack on West Bengal's Trinamool Congress (TMC) government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today accused it of blocking industrial growth and employment opportunities.

Addressing a large gathering, Modi questioned the viability of investment in a state where "even minor incidents in places like Murshidabad lead to riots and violence, and police act in a biased manner."

"How can any investor trust such an environment? Where there is no hope of justice, how can investment thrive?" he asked.
