Kolkata, Dec. 20 -- Launching a scathing attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the TMC has every right to oppose him and the BJP, but should not obstruct Bengal's development or "cause suffering" to the people of the state.
The Prime Minister was forced to address the people of Taherpur in Nadia district over the phone after dense fog disrupted his helicopter landing, preventing him from reaching the rally venue.
Despite the adverse weather conditions, Modi delivered a lengthy speech, apologising at the outset to the people for not being physically present.
"I want to express my regret to the people of Bengal. I am saying this from my heart, keeping you in mind," Modi said.
