Kolkata, Aug. 25 -- Ahead of Durga Puja, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union Home Minister Amit Shah are expected to visit West Bengal, sources in BJP said.

While Modi is likely to address a public meeting in Ranaghat, Nadia district, Shah may inaugurate two puja pandals in Kolkata.

According to party insiders, invitations have been sent to Shah for the inaugurations of the Santosh Mitra Square Durga Puja in central Kolkata and the Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (EZCC) Puja organised by the West Bengal Cultural Manch.

"We have invited the union home minister. Though confirmation is awaited, we hope he will inaugurate our puja like he did in 2023," said a Santosh Mitra Square committee member.
