Hyderabad, Oct. 26 -- A notorious criminal was injured after police allegedly fired two rounds at him in a bid to foil an attempted theft of a mobile phone at Victory playground near Chaderghat in the city ton Saturday evening.
While passing near Chaderghat along with his gunman, DCP (South East) Chaitanya noticed two men attempting to snatch a mobile phone.
The DCP and his gunman immediately tried to chase the offenders near Victory Playground, however, one of the offenders allegedly tried to attack the gunman with a knife, reacting swiftly, the DCP fired two rounds at the offender, who sustained bullet injuries on his hand and in stomach.
The incident occurred at around 5 p.m.
