Palakkad, Dec. 23 -- The body of migrant labourer Ramnarayan Bhayar (31) from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh, who was allegedly beaten to death by a mob on suspicion of theft at Attapalam near Walayar on December 17, was flown to his native place from Nedumbassery Airport on Tuesday.
Seven family members, including his wife Lalita and two children, accompanied the body on the flight, which departed around 10:00 am. The family received the body after embalming at Thrissur Medical College Hospital (TMCH) in the wee hours.
Earlier, the family had refused to accept the body on December 19 after the post-mortem, demanding that a mob lynching charge be included in the case and seeking Rs 25 lakh compensation from the Kerala government.
