Lucknow, Oct. 25 -- Tension erupted in Lucknow's Sushant Golf City area today when a mob attacked the local police station after learning that a murder suspect had been released from custody.
The mob, which included several women, became violent when police tried to calm them, resulting in injuries to seven police personnel, including a sub-inspector.
According to police reports, around 40 people gathered at the station demanding that officers produce the person accused in the death of sanitation worker Arun Rawat. The crowd alleged that the suspect had been released and insisted on seeing him. When police tried to pacify them, the mob began pushing and attacking the officers.
