Ch. Sambhajinagar, Oct. 9 -- Police have registered three separate cases, including charges of attempt to murder, assault, and rioting, after a mob allegedly attacked cow vigilantes and police personnel in the Chikalthana area of Ch. Sambhajinagar city.
The incident occurred when law enforcement officers and vigilante members responded to information about the smuggling of prohibited animal meat.
According to police reports, a mob of 20 to 25 people, including women, youth and minors, attacked the vigilantes and police with knives, sticks, and iron rods. Cow vigilante Ganesh Appasaheb Shelke (24), a resident of Palshi, sustained serious injuries in the assault.
